Abstract
Leadership development programs (LDPs) are critical for fostering effective leadership skills and driving organizational performance. This paper reviews the effectiveness of LDPs and identifies best practices based on research conducted between 2012 and 2019. The paper examines the impact of LDPs on individual leadership skills, organizational performance, and long-term sustainability. It also explores key challenges such as resistance to change, lack of resources, and measuring program effectiveness. Best practices include aligning programs with organizational goals, involving top management, continuous evaluation, and flexibility. Case studies and common elements of successful programs are discussed, highlighting the importance of strategic planning and stakeholder engagement. Despite challenges, effective leadership development can lead to improved employee engagement, retention, and organizational success.
