Échanges interpersonnels sur la page Facebook “Femme Algérienne” : politesse, hyperpolitesse et polirudesse
Abstract
With the rise of the Internet and the advent of Web 2.0, research on verbal interactions has considerablyproliferated. Social networks nowconstituteprivilegedspaces for observing and analyzinginteractionaldynamics in digital contexts, where exchanges occurcontinuously and often in real time. These platforms provideuserswith the opportunity to maintain and strengthen social ties, share information, and participate in frequent and sustained interactions, whetherthroughposts, comments, or private messages.
In thisstudy, situatedwithin the field of online discourseanalysis, weaim to examine the strategies of politeness, hyperpoliteness, and politrudenessemployed by users of the Facebook page “Femme Algérienne.” The analysisrevealsthat interactions are characterized by a coexistence of explicit displays of politeness, intended to establishrelational balance and preserve the harmony of exchanges, and forms of politrudeness, oftenused for critical, humorous, or argumentative purposes, reflecting the tensions and social regulationinherent to thiscontext. Theseinteractional practices shed light on how usersmodulatetheirlanguageaccording to implicit group norms, the degree of familiaritywiththeirinterlocutors, and the social and cultural stakes of digital communication.
