Abstract
Diabetes Mellitus is a group of metabolic disease characterized by chronic hyperglycemia resulting from defects in insulin secretion, insulin action or both. The abnormalities in carbohydrate, fat and protein metabolism that are found in diabetes are due to deficient action of insulin on target tissue (craig et al., 2009). It is characterized by increased blood sugar levels and improper primary metabolism. In Diabetic mellitus. hyperglycemia can lead to the depression of the natural antioxidant system (Pavana, et al., 2009). It is the most common endocrine metabolic disorder of childhood and adolescent with physical and emotional development (Foster,1998).
