Abstract
Small-scale businesses play an important role in boosting the economy by creating jobs, encouraging innovation, and generating income. However, small-scale entrepreneurs often face numerous challenges that hinder their growth and sustainability. This study explores the challenges faced by small-scale entrepreneurs in Tirunelveli Taluk, focusing on financial constraints, operational challenges, and competition. The findings reveal that most entrepreneurs are young and well-educated, with trading being the most common type of business. Many entrepreneurs rely on personal savings to fund their businesses, and lack of access to finance is the biggest challenge. The study suggests improving access to credit, simplifying government regulations, providing marketing support, developing skills, and improving infrastructure. The study provides actionable insights to strengthen the entrepreneurial ecosystem and support sustainable growth for small-scale businesses in the region.
