ATTITUDE OF UNDER GRADUATE STUDENTS TOWARDS DISTANCE EDUCATION PROGRAMME OF KERALA UNIVERSITY

Abstract
The purpose of this study is to find out the relationship between attitude and academic performance of under graduate students towards Distance education programme in Kerala for this the survey method gathers data from a relatively larger of cases at a particular time”. Normative survey method will be employed for the proposed study. A sample is the small portion of the population that is selected for observation and analysis. The study proposed constitutes a representative sample of 400 under graduate students of (SDE) under University of Kerala. Drawn by stratified random sampling technique. The study found out that . The coefficient of correlation obtained between the variables is 0.61, t ratio is 15.36, and standard error of r value is 0.03 at 0.01 level of significance, most of the under graduate students have moderate level of attitude towards distance towards distance education. From the above table, it is evident that, in the total sample of 400 students, 17.75%, 64.25%, 18% were in favorable, moderate, and unfavorable levels of attitude towards distance educationmost of the under graduate students have average of level of academic performance. From the above table, it is evident that in the total sample of 400 students 18.25%, 47%, 34.75% were in high, average and low levels of academic performance.
