Abstract
The present study examined the availability dimension of financial inclusion services in Punjab. The
study sampled 500 respondents from three districts of Punjab i.e. Gurdaspur, Jalandhar and Sangrur. The
study evaluated aspects such as availability of loan, duration of loan, overdraft is provided by Bank or
not etc. The study applied Chi-square test to test the difference in availability of financial inclusion
products and services. Mostly respondents have reported provision of basic bank account, ATM and pass
book, insurance etc. without any hidden charges. But still respondents revealed that availing a loan is
difficult procedure. A lot of time is wasted in procedural formalities and loan is also not given for a
sufficient time period. They want loan for at least two years or beyond. Mostly saving schemes were not
found appropriate by the respondents. The banks adopt all means to intimate about new schemes such as
newspapers, brochures, and TV and bank officials. Mixed views have been found for help desk in the
banks
