Awareness of Quad zygoma among Dental Students

Abstract
Background:The zygoma implant has been an effective option in the management of the atrophic
edentulous maxilla as well as for maxillectomy defects. Brånemark introduced the zygoma implant not
only as a solution to obtain posterior maxillary anchorage but also to expedite the rehabilitation process.
A zygoma implant is a therapeutic option that deserves consideration in the treatment-planting process.
Aim: To assess and create awareness of quad zygoma implant prosthesis.
Material and Methods: A questionnaire of 10 questions based on creating awareness on management of
quad zygoma implant prosthesis among dental students, collected data were tabulated and statistically
analyzed.
Results:The total sample size of this study was 100 dental students.In this survey, a questionnaire of 10
questions was created and circulated among the participants. 56% were PG participants and 44% were
UG participants.63% participants were aware of quad zygoma,63% were aware of advantages of
zygomatic implant.
Conclusions:Within the limits of the study it was found that PG participants were more aware of quad
implant but UG participants were not well aware of quad zygomatic implant. This survey helped in
creating awareness on various aspects of quad zygomatic implant
