Pages: 1320-1327
Abstract
The COVID crisis and lockdown in India have significantly impacted higher education, with student enrolment increasing by approximately 11 lakhs between 2019-2020. The pandemic has led to the introduction of micro-learning, a hybrid model that caters to the short attention span of Millennial’s and the introduction of unconventional practices such as open book examinations. The focus has shifted from traditional classroom settings to online learning, allowing students to take exams regardless of their physical attendance requirements. Hybrid learning has emerged as a new approach, bridging the gap between online education and hands-on experience. This approach encourages students to continuously hone their skills and stay competitive in the market. The Indian Prime Minister's aim to make India a Research & Development hotspot has led to the integration of outlets for online education during the pandemic. The goal of the current study is to investigate how COVID-19 has affected the training and learning processes in higher education.
