Abstract
Introduction: Peripheral Vascular Disease is the circulatory condition in which narrowed blood vessels reduce
blood flow to the limbs. The colour Doppler ultrasound was used to assess peripheral vascular disease and a physical
examination to check the blood flow of veins and arteries. The ultrasonic equipment, or transducer, moves over the
analyzed area with the patient's skin. The test can reveal blood vessel narrowing, blood clots, and reverse blood
flow. An angioplasty operation was performed on a patient who was 55 years old. A catheter is inserted into a groin
or arm artery and guided to the narrowed area. The swelling has been most common in the lower limbs.
The Main Diagnosis,Therapeutic Intervention and Outcomes: The doctor diagnosed Peripheral Vascular Disease
with Pulmonary Atresia during the physical examination. Antibiotics were given to the patient to treat the infection
and corticosteroids to minimize swelling.
Therapeutic Intervention: In this case, we saw the medical management of Peripheralvascular Disease with
Pulmonary Atresia with the administration of Inj. Cefotaxime 1 mg (BD) IV, Inj.hydrocortisone 100mg IV, Inj.
Heparin 5000 IU (TDS), Tab.Augmentin 625mg (BD), Tab. Ecosprin 150mg (O.D.), and Angioplasty.
Outcomes: Doctors prescribed antibiotics and corticosteroids, and Angioplasty was performed on the patient. The
patient’s health was stable under medical supervision, and he had recovered from Peripheral Vascular Disease,
which manifested itself as swelling and pain.
Perspectives from the nursing profession: Hourly check vital signs and blood pressure. Keep a record of your
intake and outflow. Medication prescribed by a physician. Prepare the patient for Angioplasty and provide them
with psychological support.
Conclusion:The patient was admitted to the A.V.B.R. Hospital with a primary complaint of pain and swelling in
both lower limbs and an inability to walk correctly.
