Do socio traits and behaviour cause attitude towards investment? Empirical evidence

Abstract
The present study aims to investigate the probable impact of socio traits and behavior on the attitude towards investment among rural population. The responses of 400 respondents were collected and examined. Behavioural aspects were examined through behavioural proxies namely financial self-efficacy, personality traits, financial literacy, social influence. Age, gender, income, qualification, and marital status were investigated to measure the impact of demographics on investment attitude. Multiple regression, ANOVA, and Post hoc statistical techniques were applied to measure the impact. The results show that under study variables have significant effect on the investment attitude of the rural people. The findings also demonstrate that age and marital status have significant influence on the attitude towards investment and no other demographic variables show their influence on the investment attitude of rural people.
