Abstract
One of the key issues in Turkish literature is the tension between Dogmas, Doubts and Despair. In ElifShafak'sThree Daughters of Eve, an individual looks for originality amidst religion's binary options with Shafak giving a complex representation of religion. This does not favour any one kind of Islam or another. Instead, it discusses power, which is a fundamental aspect of religion. This paper titled "The Conflict of Religion and Identity in ElifShafak'sThree Daughters of Eve" flings to address the conflict of religion and identity in Turkish society. This paper aims to point out the political issues prevailing in the Turkish society when an individual searches for identity.
