Abstract
The Researchers have undertaken the present study to test the level of Professional wellbeing among the teachers of high schools and to find the difference if any in terms of Gender, Locality and Spouse employment status. The Researchers have made use of survey method to execute the research to arrive at necessary findings. Stratified random sampling method was adopted to secure the final sample of the study comprising 400 high school teachers from the Chennai – Central Educational District, Tamilnadu. The Researchers have administered the “Teachers Professional Wellbeing Scale” to collect necessary data and employed statistical methods - Mean, Standard deviation and ‘t’ test for independent sample to test the stated hypothesis. The findings of the study revealed that all the subsamples of the study – Male, Female, Rural, Urban and teachers with Employed spouse found to be moderate in their Professional wellbeing. The category of teachers with unemployed spouse are found to be low in their Professional wellbeing. In terms of differential analysis, it is found that Male teachers, teachers in Rural areas and teachers with Employed spouse are significantly higher than their counterparts in their Professional wellbeing.
