Abstract
It is a well-known fact that children do better at school when their parents are involved as compared to those
parents who does not give heeds to their children’s education. The involvement of parents in the care and
education of their differently-abled children is especially important and necessary. Involvement of parents
having children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) is considered to be more crucial due to the fact that these
parents have a ‘unique understanding of their child’s needs’ and therefore they are also regarded as the best
exponent in understanding their child’s needs, rights and even making well-judged decisions for them. This
study investigates the degree on how the socio-economic status and educational level of the parents can have an
impact on the care and education of their differently-abled children.
