Abstract
Education plays a crucial role in shaping social mobility, serving as a key determinant of an individual's ability to move up the social ladder. This paper provides a critical review of the relationship between education and social mobility, examining historical perspectives, current trends, influencing factors, challenges, and future directions. The paper highlights the importance of education in promoting social mobility, while also acknowledging the various barriers and inequalities that hinder equal access to educational opportunities. Strategies to improve education systems for social mobility, policy recommendations, and the role of technology in enhancing educational opportunities are discussed. The paper concludes with a call to action for addressing the challenges in education and social mobility, emphasizing the need for concerted efforts from governments, institutions, and society to create a more equitable education system.
