Electronic Signature as a Mechanism for Proving Electronic Transactions
Dr. Bouziane Said
Pages: 355-366
Abstract
E-commerce, as a true economic revolution, has enabled the world to communicate and interact commercially, achieving significant benefits in terms of exchange and thus driving the development balance forward. In pursuit of formalizing this type of transaction between parties, a signature compatible with this modern environment—distinct from the traditional concept of signing—became necessary. This necessity led to the adoption of an alternative to the traditional signature, giving rise to what is known as the electronic signature. This signature has taken multiple forms, starting with password-based signing and evolving into digital signatures, which have gained widespread use in electronic transactions. Digital signatures serve as a means of establishing a person's connection to a particular action and attributing it to them under conditions defined by law.
