Emotional Competence in Pre-Service School Teachers: Nurturing Educators for Tomorrow
Dr. ADAM PAUL PATTETI
Pages: 957-961
Abstract
A key factor in the quality of training is pre-service teachers' psychological wellness. They struggle with the emotional demands of their roles as they teeter on the brink of becoming educators instead of pupils. It is critical to comprehend and improve their emotional intelligence. These future teachers walk a tightrope, navigating their own emotional terrain while assisting their pupils as they navigate the maze of feelings that come with learning. The demands of the pre-service teaching profession are unrelenting: elevated stress levels, extended work hours, and the weighty duty of fostering the development of young minds. They are not equipped to handle the emotional demands of their line of work if they lack a strong basis in emotional competence. It is critical to expand the awareness of emotional intelligence as a fundamental talent to those who are tasked with developing it in the next generation, since the field is becoming more and more aware of this fact. The foundation of educational greatness is not just the emotional capacity of pre-service teachers, but also their personal qualities. By highlighting their emotional struggles and evaluating the effect of their emotional health on educational quality, this study seeks to shed light on the emotional competency of these unsung heroes. By conducting this investigation, we hope to improve the teaching profession by supplying pre-service teachers with the necessary tools to not only successfully navigate their own emotional landscapes but also assist their students in following in their footsteps to emotional intelligence, well-being, and academic success
