Abstract
The exponential advancement of technology brought its innovation to arena of transportation as well with
the development of app-based taxi services. The huge popularity of platforms such as Uber, Ola, Lyft etc.
has not only made the life of people easier but revolutionized the entire system of transportation.
However, along with the betterment in finding ways to commute, there is a significant need to understand
various factors that influence the decision of choosing app-based taxi services. These factors range from
price, offers available, reputation of the brand, popularity of the app to severe issues such as safety,
convenience, accessibility and quality of service provided. Other societal factors such as age, income,
gender, class and demography also play crucial role in deciding the booking of app-based taxi services,
there by indicating the intense relationship between these factors and the growth of app-based taxi system.
The study intends to explore these various factors that affect the booking of app-based taxi services in
order to comprehend better ways to ensure the satisfaction and convenience of customers in app-based
industry irrespective of the demographic and cultural background they come from.
