Abstract
The role of women in the development of an economy is significant. They constitute half of the population of a country but are often subjected to maintain a low profile in many social, educational and economic aspects across the world. Women hold a family and take care of all the members of her family. The role of women is more important for the growth of her child. Thus the education of women is as important as the men for a society to develop in all aspects. As Mahatma Gandhi rightly said, “If you educate a man you educate an individual, but if you educate a woman you educate an entire family”. But women are often ignored and are not allowed to attend schools for basic education, doubted on their potentiality to work in different sectors and are forced to take care of their household and her children. Thus an economy should promote female literacy to increase economic growth, longer life expectancy, lower population growth, and improve quality of life.
