Abstract
This paper studies the phenomenon of irregular migration in Mediterranean countries,
using a descriptive-analytical approach to explore its underlying causes (economic, political,
environmental, and technological) and identify its multi-dimensional and multifaceted
consequences. The study concludes that this phenomenon presents security challenges such as
human trafficking, economic issues like resource depletion, socio-cultural difficulties such as
integration challenges, in addition to humanitarian risks, the most prominent of which are
drowning and exploitation. The paper also offers practical solutions, including strengthening calls
for regional cooperation, supporting development in source countries, and adopting flexible
migration policies that balance border control with protecting rights. It advocates for creating a
comprehensive vision for crisis management by integrating security and humanitarian aspects into
public policies, emphasizing the need for the combined efforts of all stakeholders, including states,
organizations, and various active entities..
