Abstract
International law and politics are deeply intertwined, shaping the behavior of states and the dynamics of the international system. This paper explores the intersections and contradictions between international law and politics, focusing on compliance and enforcement issues, power dynamics and inequality, and the tension between national interests and the global common good. Drawing on theoretical frameworks and case studies, the paper analyzes how international law influences state behavior and the role of international organizations in promoting legal norms. The paper concludes by discussing future prospects and challenges for international law in the evolving global landscape.
