Abstract
The impact of slang in media discourse is an interesting topic for research and analysis, as language plays an important role in communication and interaction between the media and the public. Everyday language facilitates the absorption of information and reduces the gap between the sender and the receiver .
Media discourse that uses slang is usually more engaging and motivating. It can make the content more lively and reflect the local culture, helping to capture the attention of the recipients .
Modern media is characterized by the need to interact with the audience. Using slang can facilitate dialog and stimulate discussions, promoting active participation by recipients.
When media outlets use the language that people speak on a daily basis, their credibility may increase and the audience may be more willing to accept the messages and ideas presented.
Despite the benefits of using slang, there are challenges, such as the potential for misunderstanding or devaluation of content if slang is not used thoughtfully.
It can be said that slang has a significant impact on contemporary media discourse, contributing to effective communication and strengthening the relationship between the media and the audience. However, it should be used with caution to ensure clarity and quality of messages.
