METACOGNITION AND ACADEMIC ACHIEVEMENT OF UNDER GRADUATE STUDENTS

Abstract
Metacognition is a self-monetary process which helps the individual to find out strategies to learn and memorize. This ability helps the students to gain achievement orientation, either mastery or performance, which in turn results in academic success. The main aim of this study was to explore the “Metacognition and Academic achievement of undergraduate students of arts and science colleges”. The investigator has used survey method for this study. The investigator has randomly chosen 492 undergraduate students of arts and science colleges in KarurDistrict. The investigator has used questionnaire as a tool for data collection. The data were analyzed by Mean, S.D, ‘t’ test and ANOVA. The finding of the study reveals that there is significant difference among metacognition and academic achievement of undergraduate students of arts and science colleges in KarurDistrict.
