Abstract
Pharmacology is a subject which plays a vital role in any clinicians day to day life. Learning it as a subject for
examination alone would not help them in practise. A deeper understanding of the subject is essential to correlate the
underlying pathology and prescribe drugs accordingly. Learning through one way communication limits the thought
process of the students and waives off their analytical skills. Activity based learning makes the understanding better
with a long term memory. Multiple Interactive learning Algorithm, MILA is a teaching innovation which enables
students to learn by active interaction during class. Three complex topics were chosen and the MILA sessions were
conducted to the students with a protocol involving flipped class, activity based interactive learning and knowledge
assessment at the end of the session. It proved to be effective and the learning and understanding of the students
were better than conventional learning.
