Abstract
Dyslexia, Dysgraphia, Dyscalculia the specific learning disorders affect 5-15% of school going children .The invisible handicap-Dyslexia also known as reading disorder, where the person is characterized by trouble with reading despite normal intelligence has gained visibility in the classroom after the movie Taare Zameen Par(Bollywood movie) touched the screens. Still much needs to be done to ensure that a dyslexic child gets an opportunity to achieve his or her full academic potential in an inclusive classroom. In order to achieve this ideal scenario, all ‘regular’ classroom teachers should be sensitized to identify and help this child when in primary school. The school management, head of the school should become active to give an opportunity to the teachers to set up resource rooms and conduct in service training to ensure that these children receive regular and good quality education and are at par with the others in the classroom in school. This paper attempts to focus on the understanding on Dyslexia and the simple strategies which a regular teacher can use in the classroom to make the children comfortable and learn at ease in the classroom with the other children.
