Abstract
The article provides a scientific analysis of the history of views on the poetic image of the mirror, which
has long been used in mystical literature and has become important. In particular, the views of Ibn al-Arabi,
Fariduddin Attar, Jalaliddin Rumi, Nizami Ganjavi, Khusrav Dehlavi, Khoja Muhammad Porso, Abdurahman Jami,
Jafar Sajjadi on the interpretation of this symbol are summarized (to appear). The author examines the
compatibility of the mirror with its interpretations of mystical teachings and its use in works of art in the example of
Alisher Navoi's epics. In particular, the epic "Farhod and Shirin" reveals the poet's ability to use the image of a
mirror. The epic was not written in imitation of "Khusrav and Shirin" by some Western scholars, but in the world
literature as a work of art created with a completely new interpretation, a new plot and composition in the image of
a mirror. The epic was first created in a mirror style.
