Abstract
This study was conducted to determine the various factors influencing the sustainability of airline
business in the aviation market through the continuous search of new markets in airline networks. The main aim
was to gain a detailed understanding of these factors and how to have practical application in current aviation
scenarios. In this study, new markets in airline network planning towards sustainability were identified as the
dependent variable, and based on various literature reviews, five independent variables – cargo services, demand
and supply, policies and regulations, price and safety were identified. The research objectives were framed to
evaluate the impact of the identified independent variables on the sustainability of airline business and for the
identification of new markets in airline networks. Secondary data were collected for this research through
various online sources and based on the findings, it was revealed that cargo services and safety had a significant
impact. Also, demand and supply as well as price positively influenced airline sustainability and airline
networks too, whereas policies and regulations had a moderating influence on the dependent variable.
