Abstract
The expansion of international contacts, the internationalization of all spheres of life due to the entry of
the Republic of Uzbekistan into the world educational and socio-cultural space required the use of intercultural and
linguodidactic aspects to the study of interference. For modern linguodidactics, the study of linguistic and cultural
interference is also significant due to the intensification of professional activities of specialists of various profiles in
close contact with foreign colleagues. In this article, interference is considered as a communicative hindrance due to
the imposition of linguistic and cultural codes of the contacting languages. Also, the main postulate of the article is
the fact that the growing interest of linguodidactics in the phenomenon of interference, which generates not only
inter-linguistic (phonetic, lexico-grammatical, syntactic), but also discourse, socio-cultural interference in
intercultural communication. As a result, interference is interpreted in a broad sense as a conflict interaction of
cognitive-speech mechanisms, manifested in a secondary linguistic personality in deviations from the linguistic,
discourse, sociocultural norms of one linguoculture under the influence of another.Language interference is
actualized at all levels of the language system and is implemented in speech regardless of the speaker’s
consciousness, therefore, until recently, interference research was mainly focused on studying its grammatical,
lexical and phonetic aspects. However, interferences arising in intercultural communication often occur not only due
to distortions of the grammatical, lexical or phonetic side of foreign language speech, although vocabulary is one of
the most important forms of reflection of the ethno-cultural specifics of the worldview. Discourse and sociocultural
phenomena that differ in ethnocultures often give rise to misunderstandings, hindrances, failures in intercultural
communication, which can be overcome with a purposeful study of communicative behavior and background
knowledge of representatives of a foreign cultural community.
