Abstract
Sharankumar Limbale brings out the Ostracism and manipulation of Dalits in his narrative, The Outcast. As a Dalit of Mahar community he has witnessed the sufferings, mental oppressions, ostracism, sexual exploitation, spiritual atrocities, copious discriminations in the Indian society. He explains the callous treatment of Mahar by the caste Hindus in his work. He explains how the Dalits are made to accept the untouchable practices. They are made to believe that it is their duty to accept the rules framed by the caste Hindus. Limbale perceives that education is the only medicine to eradicate all these diseases from the society . Limbale came out of the clutches of the caste based society by obtaining education. This paper focues on the ostracism and manipulation at every level of Dalit’s life.
