RADICALISATION- AN INTRODUCTORY CONCEPTUAL ANALYSIS

Abstract
Radicalisation is an intellectual process by which the individuals come in the vicinity of extremist ideas.
De-radicalisation is not considered condition for violence but it is considered as a precondition
encouraging ideology. It has emerged as an individual process but the pathways consist of various
dimensions containing several social and political issues. The concept of radicalisation ideology and
various other ideological processes are responsible for linking the pathway that is leading towards the
violence. The research paper primarily investigates the strategies that are adopted by United States and
Europe dealing with the transmission of radicalisation in their country and human right aspects. The
social media groups are considered to be a major accelerator for promoting online radicalization and also
organise recruitments of people in various movements resulting in extremist ideology. Other factors like
poverty is driving the people into this process but the current scenario demands specific interventions by
the state government both at online and offline level to draft policies controlling extremism in European
Union and United States.
