Abstract
This paper reviews and analyzes the state of higher vocational education in China. It is found out that China has
a vague concept of higher vocational education; the quality of education at schools as well as the efficiency of
educational management are low; the results shown by vocational college students are relatively poor. These
downsides have made the Chinese state take a series of remedial steps to give up the traditional principles of
education in favour of the modern ones, deepen the understanding of the basic educational concepts; broaden
the role of research in education, develop different modes of training for different specialties, improve the level
of vocational training, and make up for a lack of knowledge in certain aspects of research. The accumulated
experience provide vocational educators with a deeper understanding of the condition and prospects of the
education system.
