Abstract
This study aims to identify the patterns of use of children between the age of 2-5 years for smartphones, as well as knowing the reasons for their connection and interest in them; To find out the social and health repercussions of their use of smartphones, it has started from a major question that: What are the social and health repercussions of the use of children between the ages of 2 and 5 years for smartphones in Algeria? To answer this problem, we used the descriptive approach and relying on the tool of the questionnaire that was distributed to a sample of the mothers of this age group of children in Algeria, in an accidental way, which included 610 singles, and we have reached the following results: 1- Most children of the study sample use the phone for specific times and for less than half an hour, divided into three times at most per day, and that most of them started using it before they reach the three years. It was also found that most of the sample members do not leave the phone on their own, but rather by the intervention of one of the parents and forcibly taking it from it, and in this case the children express behaviors, such as crying, screaming, beating, and some other aggressive behaviors. 2- Its social repercussions were that children have become non-social and do not interact with those around them, and that most children of the sample have become more vital and active. The results showed that the highest percentage of children, members of the sample, have gained new knowledge and information, and learned new creative skills that contributed to the development of their intelligence. 3- It turns out that most children suffer from a lack of focus or sometimes it is during their use of the smartphone, and most of them do not suffer from poor linguistic development or delay in speaking, as it was found that most of them do not find it difficult to sleep and does not suffer from insomnia.
