Abstract
Strategic Human Resource Management (SHRM) plays a pivotal role in aligning HR practices with business objectives to drive organizational success. This paper provides a comprehensive review of the literature on the alignment of HR with business objectives, focusing on theoretical frameworks, challenges, strategies for effective alignment, case studies, and future trends. The paper highlights the importance of aligning HR practices such as recruitment and selection, training and development, performance management, and compensation and benefits with business goals. It discusses challenges such as resistance to change, lack of HR understanding of business goals, and communication barriers, and proposes strategies for overcoming these challenges, including the HR Business Partner Model, continuous communication and feedback, and training and development for HR professionals. The paper also presents case studies of organizations that have successfully aligned their HR practices with business objectives and explores future trends, including the impact of technology, globalization, and HR analytics on HR alignment.
