Abstract
The purpose of this study was to apply Bourdieu's theory of symbolic assault to George Orwell's Animal Farm and its treatment of symbolic violence. George Orwell's Animal Farm by George Orwell is a satirical book that was originally published in Britain in 1945. The central message is a condemnation of communism, or at least Soviet-style communism. Bourdieu's theory on symbolic violence is examined, and the research seeks to identify symbolic violence's tools in George Orwell's Animal Farm. Ricoeur's hermeneutic approach is used to examine the means of symbolic violence in this text. The findings demonstrate that the novel employs both verbal and written speech as tools of symbolic violence. The article's other objective is to introduce the reader to a fresh way of looking at literature.
