THE IMPROVEMENT OF MOTORIC ABILITY IN EARLY CHILDREN WITH CENTRAL JAVA TRADITIONAL GAMES

Abstract
Motor development is one of the abilities possessed by early childhood which is influenced by factors such as the child's relationship with the environment. The child's personal relationships are a factor that will have an impact on the child's motor development. Various efforts must be made to improve children's gross motor and fine motor skills. Especially in the use of traditional games which are full of local cultural values, in addition to stimulating the social abilities of young children. This research aims to obtain information about the importance of traditional games in improving the motor skills of young children. The method used in this research is a survey with a descriptive survey approach. The data analysis technique in this research is descriptive analysis using mean, medium, mode, percentage and grouping based on data intervals. The research results show that 96% of kindergarten lessons do not use traditional games to stimulate children's personal relationship abilities. Meanwhile, 45% of learning activities that use traditional games can stimulate children's motor skills. Most learning uses methods that are already contained in the curriculum and previous teaching references.
