Teaching Competency In Relation To Professional Involvement Of School Teachers

Abstract
In this study, an attempt has been made to study Teaching competency and Professional involvement of School teachers.
The Teaching Competency Scale (TCS) constructed and validated by the Investigator (2020) and Professional
Involvement Scale (PIS) developed by Zaki Akhtar and Udham Singh (2014), were used to collect the data from a
sample of 120 primary and middle school teachers in Tindivanam District of Tamilnadu State in India. The survey
method had been followed and simple random sampling technique was used in administration of the research tools. The
result of the analysis reveals that there is significant difference in the teaching competency of school teachers with
respect to their gender and professional qualification; there is significant difference in the professional involvement of
school teachers with respect to their gender and educational qualification and there is significant and positive
relationship between teaching competency and professional involvement of school teachers
