Abstract
This study focuses on the critical edition of a manuscript based on a unique copy in the field of biographical literature. The manuscript in question is Mukhtasar Tartib al-Madarik wa Taqrib al-Masalik li Maʿrifat Aʿlam Madhhab Malik by Ibn Rashiq al-Andalusi. It belongs to the genre of biographical and historical writings, and its aim is to provide a concise summary of the biographies of prominent scholars of the Maliki school. The study highlights the eleventh generation of scholars, which is uniquely included in this manuscript and does not appear in Tartib al-Madarik by Qadi Iyad. This was carried out using the method of editing based on a single existing copy, a method that includes both the analysis of the text itself and the scholarly treatment it requires.
