Abstract
Abdelkader Alloula aimed to elevate and establish Algerian theater through his dramatic writings. He sought to reconnect the audience with their heritage, addressing the collective memory and influenced by Brechtian experimental theater. He employed various forms to embody the act of word, movement, and performance. Recognizing that theater is one of the most effective performing arts for connecting with the human spirit, Alloula worked to raise awareness among Algerian audiences while also rooting Algerian theater in its own context.
