Abstract
The Holy Qur’an, an unparalleled miraculous book that has captivated both humankind and jinn, continues to be a focal point of scholarly interest. Researchers draw from it unique insights and invaluable lessons across various aspects of life, extracting morals and teachings. Among the stylistic approaches employed by the Qur’an to convey these lessons is the inclusion of narratives. One such narrative is the story of Prophet Moses (peace be upon him) and his people, which is recounted in numerous instances across different chapters of the Qur’an, covering diverse themes. Among these is the story of the cow, which serves as the subject of this article. Through this study, we aim to highlight the paradoxical nature of the dialogue between Prophet Moses (peace be upon him) and his people, exploring the narrative techniques employed in this dialogue, the contradictions that unfolded throughout the exchange, and the ultimate resolution of the conversation. All these aspects will be analyzed in the context of this article.
