Abstract
This study aimed to investigate the impact of emotional regulation strategies on the quality of work life among university professors, as well as the dimensions of these strategies on the quality of work life. The study sample consisted of 499 professors from three universities: Adrar University, Setif University and Ghilizan University. A descriptive approach was used to achieve the study objectives, using the emotional regulation strategies scale (Gross, James, 1998; Gross & John, 2003) and the work life quality scale (Ben Khaled, Abdel Karim, 2017). After confirming the psychometric properties of both research instruments and collecting the data, the analysis was conducted using several statistical methods, including simple linear regression and stepwise multiple linear regression. The study found that emotion regulation strategies have an impact on the quality of work life, with the ‘situation selection’ strategy and the ‘response modification: suppression or inhibition’ strategy being particularly influential on the quality of work life among university professors.
