Abstract
Algerian folk poetry played a great role when speaking about martyrs; specifically in el-hodna ; and appreciating their fighting in addition. Then describer them in mountains and attacks so as to encourage them to be patient and hold on again the colonizer. Therefore, advising them to unify and defend their faith and country. moreover, they should stick to Islamic regulations and be proud of being moslims. Furthermore, poetry had shown to the world that those soldiers were freedom seekers not terrorists as the French colonizer used to describe them
