Abstract
Cultural criticism is an effective tool for understanding literary works and uncovering the the flaws in traditional literary criticidm, without considering the cultural aspects embedded in informal creative works, such as folk songs, tales, and proverbs. while high poetry, like the works of Mahmoud darwich and Nizar Qabbani, recives greater attention, literary criticism often overlooks the cultural dimensions of popular works.
In this contex, Abdullah Al- Ghudami emphasizes the need to correct these mistakes and reassess popular works, this research paper focuses on the "masculinity/femininity" binary within popular creative texes and raises the following questions: what is the concept of masculinity/ femininity in these texts? How has it been employed in folk tales, specifically in the tale of majlia seven?
